Indian Home Minister Amit Shah met US Ambassador Sergio Gor on Thursday to discuss expanding cooperation on security issues, including counter-terrorism and counter-narcotics efforts.
Shah said the discussions focused on strengthening collaboration between the two countries and advancing broader strategic ties.
The meeting comes as India and the United States seek to deepen engagement across defence, intelligence-sharing and law-enforcement cooperation.
Officials in both countries have increasingly emphasised security coordination amid evolving regional challenges and concerns about transnational criminal networks.
India has described its partnership with the United States as a key pillar of its foreign and security policy, while Washington views New Delhi as an important strategic partner in the Indo-Pacific region.
