Accuses him of displaying inconsistency in his political conduct

Leader of Opposition (LOP) in the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly and senior BJP leader Sunil Sharma on Tuesday criticised Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, describing him as a “confused and frustrated” leader and accusing him of displaying inconsistency and arrogance in his political conduct.
Speaking to reporters, Sharma questioned the chief minister’s leadership and decision-making, alleging that Abdullah lacked clarity about the direction of his government.
“The person who does not know what line and direction he has to take after taking oath on the chair he occupies is a confused and frustrated Chief Minister,” Sharma said.
He alleged that Abdullah had repeatedly demonstrated confusion during his tenure and said that such frustration often manifested itself in arrogance.
Sharma also targeted the opposition INDIA bloc, describing the alliance as lacking cohesion and political clarity.
Referring to recent political developments within the opposition camp, he said differing positions taken by some alliance leaders reflected internal contradictions and uncertainty.
The BJP leader cited remarks previously made by Omar Abdullah in which the chief minister had suggested that opposition parties should focus on future electoral cycles rather than the 2029 Lok Sabha elections.
Sharma questioned Abdullah’s current political alignment with leaders of the INDIA bloc despite those earlier observations.
“This itself reflects the confusion and frustration prevailing within the INDIA bloc,” he said.
He urged the chief minister to reassess his past statements and political decisions.
Responding to a question on Pakistan-administered Kashmir, Sharma declined to comment, saying the matter fell within the domain of the Ministry of External Affairs.
“For us, the Ministry of External Affairs and its officers are the competent authorities on such matters because it concerns territory outside our control. I am in an ordinary political role and it is not my place to comment on the issue,” Sharma said.
