Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Tuesday called for real-time coordination among security agencies, saying it was essential to meeting security objectives in the region.
Chairing a Unified Headquarters meeting at Lok Bhavan in Srinagar to review the security situation, Sinha called for measures to cut off logistical and financial support for militants, disrupt infiltration, and dismantle networks involved in radicalisation.
“A foolproof counter-strategy must be implemented to completely choke off logistical and financial support for militants, and we must step up measures to disrupt and counter infiltration,” he said, adding that operations should continue against remaining elements of the militant ecosystem.
Sinha also directed security forces and Jammu and Kashmir Police to build public trust by listening to residents and resolving grievances.
He reviewed operational preparedness for winter and stressed vigilance against emerging threats.
The LG congratulated the Army, Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), Jammu and Kashmir Police, and intelligence agencies on the peaceful conduct of the Amarnath Yatra.
Senior attendees included Northern Command chief Lieutenant General Pratik Sharma, Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo, police chief Nalin Prabhat, Chinar Corps chief Lieutenant General Balbir Singh and other military, police, intelligence and civil administration officials.
