Jammu, May 25
Police on Monday traced 33 missing smartphones worth around Rs 6 lakh and returned them to their owners during a programme held in Jammu.
The recovered phones were handed over by the Crime and Criminal Tracking Network and Systems (CCTNS) team of Jammu Police headquarters zone during an event organised at the District Police Lines, Jammu.
The programme was held under the supervision of Anna Lata Sinha.
Speaking on the occasion, SP Headquarters Jammu Anna Lata Sinha said the recovered smartphones belonged to complainants from different parts of the district, with some missing cases dating back nearly four years.
“Through sustained technical efforts and coordinated follow-up, the Crime and Criminal Tracking Network and Systems team managed to trace and recover the missing devices,” she said.
While handing over the smartphones to their rightful owners, Sinha urged the public to follow proper cyber hygiene practices and remain vigilant while using mobile phones and digital platforms.
She advised people to take precautions to prevent loss of valuable data and misuse of personal information, officials said.
Police said the recovery reflects continued efforts by the CCTNS team to trace lost devices and assist the public using technical investigation and follow-up.
