Central Reserve Police Force Director General G P Singh reviewed security operations in Kashmir on Tuesday and called on commanders to maintain a technological edge and strong area domination.
Singh chaired a high-level meeting at the Kashmir Operations Sector and inspected frontline units during the second day of his three-day visit to the Valley.
The review covered operational readiness, coordination with other security agencies and upgrades to surveillance, communications and tactical equipment, officials said.
Singh also reviewed ongoing work and interacted with personnel of the Quick Action Team, praising their efforts and highlighting their role in rapid response and specialised counter-terror operations in urban and peri-urban areas.
He later visited the 116 Battalion CRPF, where he reviewed the security situation with senior officials and urged personnel to maintain operational readiness and robust area security.
The visit began on Monday with an inspection of the 118 Battalion at Gund in Ganderbal. Singh reviewed the security situation, recognised personnel with Director General’s Discs and commendation certificates, and held a meeting with troops to discuss welfare and operational issues.
The visit follows the conclusion of the 57-day Amarnath Yatra in late August, with the force now focused on maintaining the security grid and operational readiness in the Valley.
Senior officers accompanying Singh include Special DG Rajesh Kumar, IG Operations Directorate Gyanendra Kumar Verma, IG Kashmir Operations Sector Vineet Brijlal and IG Srinagar Sector Pawan Kumar Sharma.
The three-day tour is scheduled to continue with further reviews of CRPF deployments in the Valley.
