Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said on Monday he remained in regular contact with Union Home Minister Amit Shah on issues including restoration of statehood, government business rules, reservation, and appointment of an Advocate General.
“I stay in touch with the Home Minister. Many issues between J&K and the central government need to be discussed, be it statehood or business rules,” Abdullah told reporters on the sidelines of the inaugural International Film Festival of Jammu and Kashmir in Srinagar.
Abdullah said Jammu and Kashmir had been without an Advocate General for nearly two years.
“It has been almost two years since our Advocate General was appointed. He hasn’t been appointed yet,” he said.
On reservation, Abdullah said the response sought by the central government from the J&K Cabinet had been prepared but had not yet been sent.
“The reservation issue, which the Cabinet had to answer to the central government, has been prepared. But that answer has not yet been sent to the Government of India,” he said.
Abdullah said these were among the issues he had discussed with Shah.
