Legislative Assembly will hold seven sittings during its autumn session, beginning September 21 and ending September 30, according to a provisional calendar issued by the assembly secretariat.
The session will open in Srinagar with obituary references and government business.
Government business will also be taken up on September 22 and September 29-30.
Private Members’ bills are scheduled for September 24 and September 28, while September 25 has been set aside for Private Members’ resolutions.
The Business Advisory Committee may later make changes to the provisional schedule.
The J&K cabinet, headed by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, is due to meet on September 10 to finalise government business for the session.
Bills and resolutions requiring legislative approval will be considered, including a proposal related to Ease of Doing Business.
The session was summoned by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on August 12.
It will take place nearly two weeks before the October 4 deadline for convening a session within six months of the previous sitting.
The previous budget session ended in Jammu on April 4.
The autumn session will also mark a wider shift towards electronic legislative proceedings through the National e-Vidhan Application (NeVA) portal.
Government departments have been instructed to use the portal to process legislative business, including bills, amendments, replies to questions, assurances and other documents.
The Assembly secretariat has already sent questions submitted by legislators to the relevant departments and created departmental login credentials.
Chief Minister Omar Abdullah is also expected to attend a familiarisation session on the NeVA system, according to the source material.
