Authorities in Jammu and Kashmir reviewed progress on the proposed master plan for Doodhpathri, with officials outlining steps to finalise a framework for its planned development, an official statement said on Thursday.

Deputy Commissioner Budgam Athar Aamir Khan chaired a meeting to assess the mechanism for preparing the plan in line with existing regulations, including provisions under the Jammu and Kashmir Development Act, 1970, and related government orders.

The exercise will focus on areas notified under the Doodhpathri Development Authority, with officials emphasising structured and sustainable growth of the tourist destination.

Senior officials from departments including town planning, revenue, public works, police, forest and environment attended the meeting.

Khan called for the use of modern technologies to improve accuracy and transparency in the planning process, directing officials to complete GIS-based mapping, ground demarcation and detailed surveys of notified areas.

He also asked authorities to coordinate closely and ensure time-bound completion of digitisation and other preparatory work for the master plan.
