PM Shiri Government Secondary School Laharwalpora marked World Book Day with a student session featuring a telephonic address by author Maroof Shah, officials said.

During the interaction, Shah emphasised the importance of maintaining a daily diary, saying regular writing sharpens thinking, deepens understanding and fosters creativity among students. He also highlighted the role of reading in personal and intellectual growth, describing books as a means to engage with ideas across time and place.

Head of the institution Javaid Jawad introduced the speaker and encouraged students to cultivate reading and writing habits.

Organisers said the session aimed to motivate students to adopt reading as a lifelong practice, with participants expressing commitment to engage more actively with books and learning.
