Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Sunday said India’s youth would lead the country to greater heights and urged National Cadet Corps cadets to carry forward the values of unity, discipline, and patriotism across communities.

Addressing a Special National Integration Camp organised by the National Cadet Corps Directorate Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh in Srinagar, LG Sinha said India placed its trust and confidence in young people and expected them to help shape the country’s future.

“India places its hope and confidence in its youth, trusting that the young generation will lead the nation to greater heights,” he said. “NCC cadets must honour that trust by living the values of the NCC and spreading them across communities.”

Interacting with cadets from across the country, the LG described the camp as a reflection of India’s national spirit and said participants were not only witnessing history but actively contributing to it.

He said India’s diversity remained its greatest strength and that the country’s civilisational character had long been rooted in transforming diversity into unity.

“For many centuries, India’s greatest strength has been turning diversity into unity, weaving many cultures into one shared national spirit,” LG Sinha said.

He urged cadets to use the leadership lessons gained during the camp to strengthen society and promote social harmony in their respective states and regions.

“The values of unity in diversity and the leadership qualities you have learned at this camp must be put to use in improving society,” the LG said. “The seed of patriotism sown here must be carried forward with responsibility and dedication.”

He said young people were inheriting a rapidly changing world, but India’s youth were equipped with the confidence and skills needed to meet future challenges.

“The youth of the NCC are both India’s strength today and the builders of its tomorrow,” LG Sinha said.

Referring to the NCC motto of ‘Unity and Discipline’, he called on cadets to foster unity, resolve social challenges through dialogue and contribute to the vision of a developed India.

The event featured cultural performances by NCC cadets representing different parts of the country. Officials said the camp brought together 340 cadets and NCC officers from across India.
