3 vehicles seized in Anantnag over illegal mining activities: Police

Police said the tractors were found engaged in unauthorised extraction and transportation of minerals and were seized on the spot.

In a statement, Jammu and Kashmir Police said the arrests were made under the “100-Day Nasha Mukt Jammu Kashmir Abhiyaan”.

The accused was identified as Aadil Hussain Lone of Mohammadpora in Kulgam district, police said.

“This is the time to look ahead, not dwell on what has been done in the past,” the PM told the ministers, according to sources.

Shaheen questioned how such a large-scale demolition exercise was carried out without “proper consultation and administrative sensitivity”.

During the event, disaster-response equipment kits were distributed to tehsildars across the district to improve preparedness at the tehsil level.

Two houses sustained partial damage, while a section of the road caved in. Two people suffered minor injuries.

Students and faculty members from various schools across the region are participating in the festival, organisers said.

The researchers also criticised the inclusion of the terms “ovarian” and “polyendocrine” in the proposed name.

The remarks also came against the backdrop of a recent demolition drive in Jammu’s Sidhra area.
