A two-day regional science festival aimed at promoting scientific awareness and innovation among students began on Wednesday at Aalam Shah Convent Senior Secondary School in Banihal.
The ‘Curious Minds: Exploring the Wonders of Science in J&K’ festival is being organised by the J&K Students Welfare Society with support from the Department of Science and Technology.
According to organisers Shabir Ahmed Shabir and Viqar Mehrab, the event seeks to encourage scientific temper, creativity and innovation among students and youth in the region.
The programme includes a range of competitive activities such as a working model exhibition, engineering challenges, science quiz, seminars, a scientific aptitude test and a student parliament, alongside several non-competitive events.
Students and faculty members from various schools across the region are participating in the festival, organisers said.
They said that the event aims to provide a platform for young participants to showcase talent, exchange ideas and deepen their understanding of science and technology.
School principal Nazar Muhammad Giri said the festival was expected to strengthen scientific awareness and academic engagement among students in the district.
