Prime Minister Narendra Modi held 15 bilateral meetings with heads of state or government over three days on the sidelines of the BRICS summit in New Delhi, government sources said on Sunday.
The meetings included talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Chinese President Xi Jinping, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
Modi also met Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, Vietnamese Prime Minister Le Minh Hung, Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, Philippine President Ferdinand R Marcos Jr and Ugandan Vice President Jessica Alupo, among others.
Government sources said Modi also held informal pull-aside meetings with other world leaders and representatives of international institutions.
India hosted the BRICS summit on September 12-13, with leaders from the bloc’s 11 member countries and 10 partner countries attending, along with representatives of international organisations.
