Leader of Opposition Sunil Sharma accused the National Conference (NC)-led government on Monday of avoiding questions over employment, service conditions and rising electricity costs as BJP lawmakers disrupted the opening day of the autumn assembly session.
Sharma said the BJP had sought answers on the concerns of National Health Mission employees, ASHA and anganwadi workers, CAMPA workers, Gram Rozgar Sevaks and technical assistants.
“The BJP wants to fulfil its responsibility with integrity. That is why today we tried to demand answers from the government,” Sharma told reporters after the House was adjourned.
BJP lawmakers initially protested from their seats with posters before entering the well and raising slogans during Question Hour.
Sharma said rising power tariffs were putting pressure on household budgets and also raised concerns over cooperative bank victims and job security in several sectors.
“When genuine public concerns are raised in the Assembly, it is the responsibility of the government to provide clear answers,” he said.
Sharma said the BJP would continue to raise employment, livelihoods, basic services, rising costs and opportunities for young people during the session.
