People’s Democratic Party (PDP) President Mehbooba Mufti formed a committee of senior leaders to strengthen and reorganise the party’s organisational structure across Jammu and Kashmir.

The panel will be headed by senior PDP leader and former Member of Parliament Mehboob Beg and includes Abdul Haq Khan, Peerzada Mansoor, Yasir Reshi and Waheed Para, according to party leaders.

Party officials said the initiative is aimed at expanding grassroots outreach and strengthening local units as the PDP seeks to rebuild its organisational presence in the region.

Leaders said the committee would begin work immediately, focusing on mobilisation, internal restructuring and preparing the party for future political engagements.

They also claimed that several individuals have expressed interest in joining the party in the coming days, describing it as part of a broader effort to reconnect with public sentiment and address local grievances.

Another party leader said the PDP continues to focus on issues affecting ordinary citizens and intends to raise concerns at appropriate political forums, while strengthening its field-level presence across districts.

The PDP, a key political party in Jammu and Kashmir’s regional landscape, has in recent months intensified outreach efforts amid shifting political dynamics in the Union Territory.
