The Jammu and Kashmir government on Thursday ordered a major police reshuffle, appointing M K Sinha as Additional Director General of the Criminal Investigation Department and Sujit Kumar as Inspector General of Police, Kashmir Zone.
The changes are part of a wider transfer and posting of 14 senior IPS and JKPS officers and take effect immediately, according to a Home Department order dated Aug. 27.
Sinha, a 1996-batch AGMUT cadre officer, has been shifted from ADG Headquarters to ADG CID, replacing Nitish Kumar.
Nitish Kumar, a 1999-batch officer, has been transferred from CID and posted as ADG Armed Police J&K against an available vacancy.
Sujit Kumar, a 2007-batch AGMUT officer, has been transferred from IGP Security to head the Kashmir Zone.
Vivek Gupta, also a 2007-batch officer, has been appointed IGP Security, replacing Sujit Kumar.
Tejinder Singh, a 2008-batch officer serving as IG CID, has been transferred as IG Jammu Zone, replacing Bhim Sen Tuti.
Tuti has been posted as IG Headquarters, J&K.
Uttam Chand, IGP Police Operations and Services, has been appointed IGP Railways, J&K. He will retain additional charge of Police Operations and Services until further orders.
Shakti Kumar Pathak has been designated Director of the Anti-Corruption Bureau.
Mubassir Latifi Ameer has been transferred from DIG Personnel at Police Headquarters and posted as DIG IR Kashmir. He was also holding additional charge of DIG Training.
At the district level, Sahil Sarangal has been transferred from SSP Handwara and posted as SSP Pulwama.
Sunny Gupta, Additional SP Anantnag, has been appointed SSP Kishtwar, replacing Naresh Singh.
Tahir Saleem Khan has been transferred from his post as SO to IGP Kashmir Zone and posted as SSP Handwara.
Muzaffar Ahmad Shah has been appointed SO to IGP Kashmir Zone, replacing Khan.
Naresh Singh has been transferred from SSP Kishtwar and posted as SSP Rajouri against an available vacancy.
The order was issued by the Home Department on behalf of the Lieutenant Governor and signed by Principal Secretary to the Government, Home Department, Chandraker Bharti.
