Lieutenant General Mohit Seth will take over as commander of the Indian Army’s White Knight Corps on October 1, succeeding Lieutenant General P K Mishra, according to officials.
Seth, currently commandant of the Indian Military Training Team in Bhutan, will head the Nagrota-based XVI Corps, which is responsible for the Line of Control sector from Akhnoor to Poonch and the hinterland south of the Pir Panjal.
A formal change-of-command ceremony is expected at the corps headquarters in Nagrota.
Seth is a veteran of operations in Jammu and Kashmir.
As a major general, he commanded the Army’s Counter Insurgency Force Kilo in north Kashmir from December 2022.
The formation operates under the Chinar Corps and is responsible for counter-insurgency operations in north Kashmir.
Seth was commissioned into the 3 Madras Regiment in December 1991 and has held operational, training and staff appointments in Jammu and Kashmir, the northeast and at Army headquarters.
He is an alumnus of the National Defence Academy and National Defence College and has also served as Indian Army liaison officer at the Indian High Commission in the United Kingdom.
Mishra took command of XVI Corps in April 2025.
