Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has ordered a review of security procedures for migrant workers following the killing of two labourers in Kulgam.
Chairing a high-level security meeting, Sinha directed deputy commissioners and senior police officials to conduct a comprehensive review of standard operating procedures for protecting workers from outside the region.
He also directed employers to ensure that workers from other states and union territories were insured and that their details were registered with local police and district authorities.
“We must intensify precise, high-impact anti-terror operations to neutralise the terrorists,” Sinha said.
He instructed authorities to ensure dignified last rites for the victims and provide support to their families.
The meeting also reviewed security arrangements for the ongoing Amarnath pilgrimage and measures to strengthen the wider security grid.
