Officials in Jammu district were briefed on laws governing sexual harassment at workplaces during an awareness session held at the district headquarters on Saturday.
The session focused on the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013, commonly known as the POSH Act.
Additional District Magistrate Jammu Ansuya Jamwal said the law provided safeguards against sexual harassment of women working at or visiting workplaces.
She said employees should be aware of their rights and the mechanisms available to address complaints.
Jamwal also highlighted the SHe-Box online portal for filing complaints and said internal committees had been established in government offices for redressal.
She said the complaint process followed a transparent mechanism and was intended to ensure fair treatment for all.
