A steel girder bridge over the Chenab River in Akhnoor will be closed to traffic for two hours on Sunday to allow maintenance work, officials said.
The closure will run from 10 am to noon on August 2, according to a notice issued by the Akhnoor administration.
Traffic will be diverted to the new bridge on the Jammu-Poonch National Highway during the closure.
The sub-divisional magistrate has directed police and traffic authorities to make the necessary arrangements for the diversion.
