An IndiGo aircraft came into contact with a visual docking guidance system pole while being parked at Srinagar airport on Friday morning after completing a safe landing, airport authorities said.
The aircraft, operating flight 6E 225 from Navi Mumbai to Srinagar, was being positioned at Bay 6 at about 9:02 am when it struck the pole, the Airports Authority of India said.
All passengers and crew were safe, and no injuries were reported.
Passengers later disembarked using manual aircraft stairs.
The Airports Authority of India said the circumstances surrounding the incident would be examined by the appropriate authorities and that no conclusion about the cause would be drawn until the inquiry was completed.
IndiGo said the aircraft had landed safely before coming into contact with the parking-stand pole.
The airline said all passengers and crew had disembarked and that relevant authorities had been informed.
The aircraft was grounded for maintenance and would return to service after obtaining the required clearances.
Airport operations remained normal, with flights continuing as scheduled.
