Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Monday introduced legislation in the assembly to decriminalise and rationalise certain offences and repeal specified enactments.
The bill seeks amendments to existing laws as part of measures aimed at improving ease of living and ease of doing business in J&K.
It also provides for repeal of certain enactments and related matters.
The legislation, designated as LA Bill No 16 of 2026, was introduced during the ongoing autumn session.
The bill has already been published in an extraordinary issue of the Official Gazette.
