The Central Administrative Tribunal in Srinagar has directed the SSP Kupwara to execute a Rs 20,000 bailable warrant against the district’s Chief Medical Officer over alleged non-compliance with its orders in a pension case.
The tribunal also sought an explanation from the SSP for the earlier non-execution of the warrant.
The case relates to retired Health and Medical Education Department employee Muhammad Iqbal Malik, who sought release of provisional pension.
The tribunal had directed release of the pension within three weeks in February 2026 and required the CMO to appear in case of non-compliance.
When the matter came up on June 16, the tribunal noted continued non-compliance and the CMO’s absence and ordered the warrant.
On September 22, neither the CMO nor an officer from the SSP’s office appeared to report on its execution.
The tribunal said the warrant had been forwarded to the SSP’s Process Serving Agency and should have been executed promptly.
It directed the SSP to ensure execution in accordance with law and submit an explanation.
