Army Commander Northern Command Lt Gen Pratik Sharma visited south Kashmir to review the security situation and operational preparedness of troops deployed in the region, officials said.
During the visit, Sharma was briefed by commanders on security dynamics, operational challenges and measures to strengthen the security grid.
The discussions focused on surveillance, intelligence gathering and operational awareness, including greater use of technology.
Sharma reviewed measures aimed at improving the forces’ ability to detect and respond to emerging threats while maintaining coordination across the security grid.
He also assessed the preparedness of deployed formations and units, with emphasis on vigilance, adaptability and coordination.
The Army commander later interacted with troops and commended them for their professionalism, morale and commitment.
He urged personnel to remain proactive and mission-ready and to continue improving operational capabilities through technology.
The visit comes amid efforts by security forces to strengthen counter-terrorism and surveillance measures in south Kashmir.
The Northern Command said in a post on X that Sharma was briefed on evolving security dynamics and operational challenges and that discussions focused on technology integration for surveillance, intelligence and operational awareness.
