Residents join fire fighters in efforts to contain fire

Several houses were damaged after a fire broke out in the Kalwal Mohalla area of Rainawari in Srinagar on Thursday evening, officials said.
The blaze reportedly started in one house before spreading to adjoining structures, triggering a firefighting and rescue operation in the locality.
Residents joined firefighting personnel in efforts to contain the fire and prevent it from spreading further.
Fire tenders from multiple fire stations were rushed to the scene and were engaged in dousing the flames.
There was no immediate information on casualties or the extent of damage caused by the fire.
Authorities were assessing the situation, while efforts to completely extinguish the blaze continued.
