The Kashmir Traders and Manufacturers Federation (KTMF) on Sunday joined a government-organised anti-drug march in Srinagar, expressing support for the ongoing “Nasha Mukt J&K” campaign.
The delegation participated in the pad yatra at Lal Chowk and conveyed solidarity with efforts to curb substance abuse in the Union Territory.
According to organisers, the business body met Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha during the event and appreciated the administration’s push against drug trafficking and addiction.
KTMF representatives said the business community supports measures aimed at protecting youth from drug abuse, describing a drug-free population as essential for economic stability and long-term growth.
They said addressing substance abuse requires coordinated action from government agencies, civil society and trade organisations, and pledged cooperation in awareness and outreach programmes.
The delegation included Qazi Tauseef, Mohammad Yousuf Lori, Muzaffar Jan Wani and Sajad Ahmad, who represented the federation at the event.
