Jammu and Kashmir Police attached an immovable property valued at about Rs 20 lakh in connection with a narcotics case registered in Doda, officials said.
The property belongs to Zaheer Abbas of Sadeeqaabad in Doda district, and is linked to FIR No 93/2026 registered under provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985.
Police said the property, identified by Khasra No 2110/1743/941, was attached under Section 68F of the NDPS Act.
An attachment notice displayed at the site prohibits its sale, purchase, lease, transfer or creation of any third-party interest in the property, police said.
The action is part of a police drive to identify and disrupt assets allegedly linked to illegal drug trafficking, officials said.
A property belonging to Zarina Begum, valued at about Rs 53 lakh, had earlier been attached in the same case.
Additional Superintendent of Police Doda Muhammad Aslam said such action would continue as part of the police campaign against narcotics and urged residents to report suspected drug-related activity to law-enforcement agencies.
