Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday paid tribute to police personnel killed in the line of duty and thanked serving officers for protecting citizens under challenging circumstances.
In a post on social media platform X marking Police Commemoration Day, Modi acknowledged the role of police personnel in maintaining law and order, combating crime, responding to emergencies and ensuring public safety.
He said the courage, dedication and sacrifice of officers who had died while serving the country would remain part of the nation’s collective memory.
Modi also described the annual observance as an opportunity to recognise police personnel who continue to carry out their duties in difficult conditions.
