National Institute of Technology Srinagar presented research on sustainable mobility and advanced automotive systems at the SAE World Congress 2026 in Detroit, drawing interest from global industry and academic participants, the institute said.
Faculty members Harveer Singh Pali and Noor Zaman Khan from the Department of Mechanical Engineering showcased work focused on energy efficiency, emissions reduction, material processing and smart mobility solutions, according to a statement.
Organised by SAE International, the event brought together major companies including Ford Motor Company, General Motors, Honda, Hyundai Motor Company, Toyota, IBM, Dassault Systèmes and Samsung.
The institute said its research contributions were appreciated for their focus on sustainability and future-ready automotive technologies, and enabled interactions with global leaders including Peter Doty, G Nagarajan, Richard Butcher and Catherine Amodeo.
