Mir Wajahat on Tuesday assumed charge as Additional District and Sessions Judge Poonch following his transfer from Bandipora district.

A welcome function was organised at the District Court Complex in Poonch, where members of the Bar Association Poonch received the officer.

Among those present were Principal District and Sessions Judge Poonch Sushil Singh, Chief Judicial Magistrate Sarfaraz Qureshi, District Legal Services Authority Secretary Rifat Mir, Sub Judge and Special Mobile Magistrate Poonch Asma Choudhary and District Mobile Magistrate Traffic Poonch Jaspreet Kour.

Speaking on the occasion, Mir Wajahat said it was his first posting in Poonch and assured that he would work with dedication to ensure justice for the people of the district.

He said timely delivery of justice and public service would remain his priority during his tenure in Poonch.

Members of the Bar Association also welcomed Asma Choudhary on her posting as Sub Judge and Special Mobile Magistrate in the district.
