A man died on Sunday after a large rock fell on him in the Kuddhar area of Doda district, police and residents said.
The victim, identified as Prithvi Singh of Fhat Mansu in the Kuddhar area, was passing through the locality when the rock dislodged from a hillside and struck him.
He died at the scene, residents said.
Locals later recovered the body, while police completed the required legal formalities.
Doda West legislator Shakti Raj Parihar expressed condolences to the victim’s family.
