Eight people were injured on Sunday when a passenger vehicle overturned near Bulandpur village in Doda district, officials said.

The vehicle, travelling from Doda to Bulandpur, overturned after the driver allegedly lost control on a link road, according to officials.

Residents and police rescued the passengers and took them to the Primary Health Centre in Assar, where doctors said all eight were stable and most had suffered minor injuries.

Police registered a case and began investigating the cause of the accident.

The crash has renewed concerns about road safety on the district’s narrow and difficult mountain roads.
