Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Wednesday pledged to dismantle the militant network in the region as he handed appointment letters to the families of civilians killed in militant attacks.
Sinha presented government jobs to 37 next of kin of civilians killed by militants and to 32 beneficiaries under separate compassionate appointment schemes, describing the move as recognition of their sacrifice rather than compensation.
He said the administration remained committed to bringing those responsible for militancy to justice and ensuring peace, equality and development in the region.
Sinha said the constitutional changes introduced on August 5, 2019, had strengthened law and order, expanded legal rights and created new economic opportunities in Jammu and Kashmir.
He also cited higher investment, improved infrastructure and expanded connectivity as signs of the region’s economic progress, adding that the government would continue supporting families affected by militancy.
The LG warned that attempts to disrupt peace would be dealt with firmly and said the administration remained committed to preventing the revival of militancy.
