Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha visited the Kheer Bhawani temple in Ganderbal district on Monday and prayed for peace, prosperity, and communal harmony in the region.

LG Sinha offered prayers at the Mata Ragnya Devi shrine in Tulmulla as devotees gathered for the annual Kheer Bhawani festival.

Speaking to reporters, he said the occasion was an opportunity for people to seek blessings for lasting peace in Jammu and Kashmir.

“Everyone has prayed for harmony and prosperity,” the LG said.

He welcomed the large turnout of devotees and said attendance appeared higher than in recent years.

LG Sinha also reviewed arrangements made for pilgrims and praised government departments and agencies involved in organising the event.

The annual festival attracts devotees from across India and is regarded as one of the most important religious occasions for the Kashmiri Pandit community.
