Authorities in Kashmir received praise from devotees on Monday for the smooth conduct of the annual Kheer Bhawani festival, which drew large crowds to the Mata Ragnya Devi shrine in Ganderbal district.
Pilgrims from across the country participated in religious rituals, prayers, and offerings at the Tulmulla shrine during the day-long celebrations.
Officials said extensive arrangements had been made involving multiple government departments, including security, health, transport, sanitation and power services.
Senior civil and police officers visited the shrine to review arrangements and interact with devotees.
Participants said crowd management, security deployment, accommodation and medical facilities were efficiently handled despite the large turnout.
“This was a safe and well-organised pilgrimage,” said a devotee visiting from Pune.
Authorities deployed security personnel across the area, while volunteers assisted elderly visitors and managed queues.
Political leaders and senior officials also paid obeisance at the shrine.
Officials said the successful conduct of the event reflected coordinated efforts by the administration and local communities to ensure a peaceful and inclusive festival.
