Makkah, April 26

Indian Hajj pilgrims arriving in Makkah were given a warm reception after completing their stay in Madinah, officials said on Saturday.

India’s ambassador to Saudi Arabia Suhel Ajaz Khan and Consul General Fahad Ahmed Khan Suri received the first batch of pilgrims on arrival via the Haramain High-Speed Railway, according to official statements and social media posts.

The pilgrims had reached Medina on April 18 and spent eight days there before travelling to Makkah to continue the annual Hajj pilgrimage.

Officials said arrangements were in place to ensure a smooth transition between the two holy cities, with the high-speed rail link helping reduce travel time and improve comfort.

India’s mission in Saudi Arabia has been coordinating logistics, accommodation and transport for thousands of pilgrims as part of its annual Hajj operations.
