Minister for Education, Sakeena Itoo, on Thursday said the government was committed to promoting innovative learning methods and skill-based education while felicitating top performers of the ALOHA GAT-2025 examination in Srinagar.
The event, held at State Council of Educational Research and Training campus in Bemina, recognised students for academic excellence and competitive achievement.
Addressing students, parents and officials, Itoo said the examination reflected not only intelligence but also broader aspects of student development, including concentration, analytical thinking and cognitive skills.
“There is a lot of talent in Jammu and Kashmir among children,” she said, adding that students needed opportunities and encouragement to realise their potential.
The minister said the government was working to create better educational opportunities and simplify pathways for students to progress academically.
She stressed that competitive platforms such as ALOHA GAT helped build confidence, speed and accuracy among students and complemented formal education systems.
Itoo also said students who did not secure top positions should still be encouraged for participating, describing participation itself as an achievement.
Among those present at the event were Naseer Ahmad Wani and Ghulam Nabi Itoo.
The minister later distributed certificates and mementos to meritorious students.
