The government approved the transfer of 671 kanal of land in Samba district to the Industries and Commerce Department for a plug-and-play industrial park under the Centre’s Bharat Audyogik Vikas Yojna, the government said.
The proposed park is intended to provide ready-to-use industrial infrastructure, essential services and streamlined approvals to help businesses establish operations more quickly.
Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said the project would help attract fresh investment, strengthen local micro, small and medium enterprises and encourage entrepreneurship.
He said the facility would support more balanced regional development and create employment opportunities for young people while expanding Jammu and Kashmir’s industrial base.
The initiative is part of broader efforts to improve industrial infrastructure and make J&K more attractive to investors, the government said.
