The Jammu and Kashmir Board of Professional Entrance Examinations on Sunday conducted a Common Entrance Test for admission to 10th-grade-based diploma courses in paramedical fields, with candidates appearing at centers across Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh.

The examination was held in multiple locations, including Srinagar, Baramulla, Anantnag, Doda, Rajouri, Jammu, and Leh. 

Of the 1591 applicants, 1216 candidates took the test.

Officials said that examination centers had been set up in districts such as Baramulla, Anantnag, Doda, Rajouri, and Leh for the second time, in a move aimed at improving accessibility for candidates outside major urban hubs.

The test was conducted under the supervision of Minu Mahajan, chairperson of the board, with logistical support from local institutions and law enforcement agencies.

Authorities said arrangements were made to ensure the smooth conduct of the examination, with staff deployed across centers to oversee proceedings. 

No incidents of malpractice or disruption were reported.

Senior officials, including members of the board and representatives from the ARI and Trainings Department, monitored the examination process at key locations.

The entrance test is part of the annual admission process for paramedical diploma programmes for the 2026-27 academic session, which attract students seeking early entry into the healthcare sector.
