Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar, Akshay Labroo on Wednesday chaired a meeting of executing agencies to review proposals under Srinagar district’s capital expenditure budget for the 2026-27 financial year and urged departments to speed up coordination for timely completion of development works.
The meeting, held at the Banquet Hall Conference Complex in Srinagar, focused on preparation of estimates and planning for projects proposed under the District Capex Budget.
Labroo directed departments to prioritise projects based on public demand and visible impact on the ground, while ensuring administrative approvals and tendering processes were completed without delay.
He said timely execution was essential given the region’s limited working season and stressed that all works under the 2026-27 budget should be implemented in a transparent and time-bound manner.
The DC also reviewed the status of projects completed under the 2025-26 District Capex programme and instructed departments to upload details of completed works to the government’s e-compendium portal.
Labroo called for stronger coordination among line departments, adherence to timelines and strict compliance with quality standards to ensure efficient use of resources and effective delivery of development projects across the district.
