The Central University of Kashmir has invited applications for one-year postgraduate programmes for the 2026-27 academic session under the Multiple Entry-Multiple Exit framework introduced through India’s National Education Policy 2020.

The university said the programmes are open to students who have completed a four-year undergraduate honours degree in a relevant discipline.

Eligible candidates will enter directly into the third semester of a two-year postgraduate programme or the ninth semester of a five-year integrated programme, as applicable, and complete a one-year course comprising two semesters and a dissertation.

The programmes include M Sc courses in Botany, Chemistry, Zoology, Biotechnology and Physics, as well as MA courses in English, Urdu and Mass Communication and Journalism, along with M Com.

Online registration began on July 27 and will close at 11:55 pm on August 6, the university said.

Candidates who have completed a relevant four-year BA, B Sc or B Com Honours programme with at least 160 credits and the required academic performance are eligible to apply.

Admission will be based on merit in the qualifying examination, with preference given to candidates who appeared for the 2026 Common University Entrance Test conducted by India’s National Testing Agency.

The university said the Multiple Entry-Multiple Exit system, supported by the Academic Bank of Credits, would facilitate credit transfer, academic mobility and recognition of prior learning.

“Through the introduction of these one-year postgraduate programmes, the University continues to strengthen its learner-centric academic ecosystem while equipping graduates with advanced knowledge, research competencies and professional skills,” Vice Chancellor Prof A Ravinder Nath said.
