The cabinet on Tuesday cleared government business for the ongoing Legislative Assembly session, including proposed amendments to the GST and municipal laws and legislation aimed at easing business operations.
Chief Minister Omar Abdullah chaired the cabinet’s 12th meeting in Srinagar, according to an official statement.
The proposed legislation includes amendments to the J&K Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017, to align it with the central law, amendments to the J&K Municipal Act, 2000, and a bill on Ease of Doing Business.
The cabinet had earlier approved four bills for introduction in the autumn session and deferred its proposed Mission Skill and Home Stay policies for further consideration.
One of the bills approved earlier sought amendments to the J&K Cooperative Societies Act, 1989, including the repeal of the J&K Self Reliant Cooperative Act, 1999.
That bill was introduced on the first day of the session and passed by the assembly on Tuesday.
Government proposals cleared by the cabinet are sent for approval by the Lieutenant Governor before introduction in the House.
