Main opposition Bharatiya Janata Party held a meeting of its 29 legislators on Sunday to finalise its strategy for the autumn session of the legislative assembly.
Leader of Opposition Sunil Sharma said lawmakers had discussed issues affecting their constituencies as well as broader policy matters.
“We will enter the session tomorrow with a unanimous opinion,” Sharma told reporters after the meeting.
He said the BJP would raise issues concerning people facing difficulties and would question the government on policy matters.
Issues identified by BJP legislators include unemployment, recruitment, regularisation and service conditions of temporary workers, electricity tariffs, local elections, staffing shortages in schools and hospitals, roads and civic amenities.
The autumn session begins on Monday and runs until Sept. 30, with seven sittings scheduled.
The opening sitting is expected to include obituary references, followed by government and private members’ business on subsequent sitting days.
The BJP has also gathered constituency-level complaints ahead of the session, Sharma said.
