Srinagar, July 31
The Amarnath Yatra was suspended on the Baltal route on Friday because of bad weather and ongoing repairs to the track, officials said.
No pilgrims were allowed to proceed towards the cave shrine from Baltal as heavy rain affected the route and repair work continued, officials said.
Authorities announced the suspension through public address systems, citing weather conditions and the safety of pilgrims.
The yatra had already been suspended on the Pahalgam route to facilitate repair work.
Heavy rain lashed Baltal on Thursday night and triggered a minor flash flood at one location, but there were no reports of casualties or property damage, officials said.
The annual yatra began on July 3, with about 4.5 lakh yatris having visited the cave shrine so far, according to officials.
