Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Friday said security forces must be prepared to meet the challenges of asymmetric warfare, while stressing the growing importance of data analysis and precision in counter-terrorism operations.

Addressing officers attending Higher Command Course 55 at the Army War College in Mhow, Sinha said conventional military operations alone were no longer sufficient to address evolving security threats.

“Our forces must be ready to tackle the challenges of asymmetric warfare,” Sinha said, according to a statement issued by his office.

He said data analysis and algorithmic precision had become as important as conventional kinetic operations in dealing with modern security challenges.

Sinha said authorities had taken strong action against what he described as the “terror ecosystem” and those seeking to sustain militancy in Jammu and Kashmir.

He also said the government had dismantled what he called the systematic infiltration of terrorist sympathisers into government machinery over the past three decades.

“Public money will no longer sustain those quietly subverting the nation from within,” Sinha said.

The LG highlighted geopolitical and geostrategic challenges facing the region and outlined a counter-terrorism strategy based on a “whole of government approach” to dismantle militant networks.

He said Jammu and Kashmir had undergone significant change over the past six years, attributing it to efforts to rebuild public trust, strengthen governance and restore normalcy.

“Governance cannot be managed from a distance,” Sinha said, adding that administration must reach people in remote villages and serve marginalised communities.

Army War College Commandant Lieutenant General Ajay Chandpuria, faculty members and senior army officers attended the event.
