Authorities on Tuesday reopened the Srinagar-Jammu National Highway for passenger traffic from both directions after restoration work, officials said.
Senior Superintendent of Traffic (National Highway) Raja Adil said vehicular movement had resumed between Jammu and Srinagar following clearance of the route.
Commuters were advised to follow lane discipline, with officials warning that overtaking and driving on the wrong side could lead to congestion along the highway.
Authorities also urged travellers to avoid relying on rumours and instead verify road conditions through official channels of the Traffic Police, including social media platforms and Traffic Control Units.
For assistance, commuters can contact Traffic Control Units in Jammu, Srinagar, and Ramban, officials said.
