The Department-related Parliamentary Standing Committee on Industry, headed by Tiruchi Siva, called on Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha at Lok Bhavan on Thursday.

In a separate meeting, a delegation of Dharm Jagran Sansthan Dharmarth Trust Bharat led by Acharya Mahant Vivek Guru Ji also met the LG and apprised him of key issues related to the conduct of J&K Dashar Kumbh 2026 (Bod Dashar), scheduled to be held from July 15 to July 24, 2026, at the confluence of the Sindh and Jhelum rivers in Shadipora area of Ganderbal district.

According to officials, the J&K Dashar Kumbh 2026 is being jointly organised by the J&K Dashar Kumbh Parichalan Samiti, Pandit Premnath Shastri Sanskritik Shodh Sansthan, Shadipora Kumbh Committee, and Dharm Jagran Sansthan Dharmarth Trust Bharat.

The 10-day spiritual and cultural gathering is being projected as the revival of an ancient civilisational and spiritual tradition of J&K and is expected to draw devotees, saints, scholars, spiritual leaders and participants from across India and abroad.

Members of the organising committees were also present during the interaction with the LG.

Later in the day, Deputy Chief of Army Staff (Strategy), Lt Gen Rajiv Ghai, also called on LG Sinha. 

He was accompanied by General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the Chinar Corps (15 Corps), Lt Gen Balbir Singh.
