More than 8.62 lakh youth in Jammu and Kashmir have registered on the government’s MY Bharat digital platform, as New Delhi expands AI-enabled services, experiential learning programmes and grassroots outreach to improve access to skills, volunteering and employment opportunities, the government said on Thursday.
A total of 8,62,526 youth from J&K have registered on the platform, according to data tabled in the Rajya Sabha by Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya in a written reply.
The MY Bharat platform is being strengthened through AI-powered digital services, experiential learning programmes and a nationwide outreach network aimed at increasing youth participation, particularly in rural and remote areas.
The platform offers short-term Experiential Learning Programmes (ELPs) in partnership with government departments, public institutions, academic institutions and other organisations. The programmes cover sectors including postal services, Jan Aushadhi, public distribution, road safety, radio production, farmer producer organisations, care for senior citizens and semiconductor training.
Across India, more than 1.22 lakh youth have enrolled in nearly 25,000 experiential learning programmes since the platform’s launch, with participants receiving digitally validated certificates through the MY Bharat portal.
The government said the platform has introduced an AI-enabled CV Builder, developed in coordination with Bhashini, while artificial intelligence is also being used to support software development, documentation, knowledge management and programme monitoring to improve digital service delivery.
To improve access in rural and remote regions, including areas of Jammu and Kashmir, the platform is supported by a nationwide network of more than 780 District Youth Offices and has been integrated with the Common Service Centres (CSCs), allowing Village Level Entrepreneurs to help young people register and participate in programmes.
The portal also enables location-based volunteering and experiential learning opportunities at the district, block, panchayat and village levels, allowing participants to engage in activities closer to their homes.
The government said the platform works with youth clubs, educational institutions, National Service Scheme units, government departments, non-governmental organisations, not-for-profit organisations and businesses to widen participation.
Mandaviya provided the information in a written reply to the Rajya Sabha on Thursday.
