The Jammu and Kashmir Cabinet on Thursday deferred decisions on the “Mission Skill” and “Home Stay” policies, seeking further information before considering them again.
The Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah in Srinagar, cleared the remaining items on its agenda, including government business for the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly session beginning on September 21.
Among the approved proposals was a revised Ease of Doing Business bill, which seeks to reduce the number of no-objection certificates required from government departments and agencies.
The bill had been discussed at earlier Cabinet meetings and was revised after concerns raised by the Industry and Commerce, Housing and Urban Development, and Fire Services departments were addressed.
The Cabinet also approved construction of a flyover linking Muthi flyover with Shakuntala Theatre in Jammu, establishment of an industrial park under the BHAVYA scheme at Vijaypur in Samba district, and transfer of land to BSNL for expanding 4G coverage in uncovered villages.
Three kanal of Shamlat land were also approved for transfer to the Agriculture Production Department for a vegetable market at Sopore.
The approved bills will be sent to the Lieutenant Governor for approval before being introduced in the Assembly.
Officials said the Mission Skill and Home Stay policies would return to the Cabinet after further deliberations.
The meeting was the first Cabinet session since Omar met Union Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi on September 4, when issues including statehood, business rules and reservation were discussed.
