Justice Sanjeev Kumar will deliver farewell address, after which Chief Justice Palli will respond

The High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh will hold a full court reference on Monday to bid farewell to Chief Justice Arun Palli following his appointment as a judge of the Supreme Court of India, according to an official notice.
The farewell reference will take place at 10:30 am in the Chief Justice’s Courtroom at the Srinagar wing of the High Court, the notice issued by Registrar General R K Sharma said.
The proceedings will begin with an address by the Advocate General, followed by remarks by the president of the Kashmir Advocates Association on behalf of the Bar of the Union Territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh.
Justice Sanjeev Kumar will then deliver the farewell address, after which Chief Justice Palli will respond, the notice said.
Judges, judicial officers, members of the Bar and other members of the legal fraternity are expected to attend the ceremony.
Justice Palli took oath as Chief Justice of the High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh on April 16, 2025.
Born on Sept. 18, 1964, he graduated in commerce and obtained his law degree from Panjab University, Chandigarh, in 1988 before beginning legal practice at the Punjab and Haryana High Court.
He was appointed additional advocate general for Punjab in 2004 and served until 2007. He was designated senior advocate later that year and was elevated as a judge of the Punjab and Haryana High Court in December 2013.
He has also served as executive chairman of the Haryana State Legal Services Authority since May 2023 and was nominated to the governing body of the National Legal Services Authority in October 2023.
